Grand Canyon Hummer & SUV Tour
It should first be made clear that there are really three popular "rims" of the Grand Canyon.
The North & South rims are part of the Grand Canyon National Park. When reading or speaking of the Grand Canyon, one is typically implying either of these two locations. This venue hosts millions of visitors each year, and is a six-hour drive one-way (280 miles) from Las Vegas.
The West Rim, 120 miles one-way from Las Vegas, is a venue owned by the Hualapai Indian Tribe. It consists of one million acres in Arizona, including 108 miles of the western-most arm of the Grand Canyon. It was established in 1988 and hosts 180,000 tourists per year making it considerably less crowded.
There are spectacular and wonderful vistas to behold at the West Rim. In fact, because it is several hours closer than the South Rim, it has recently gained popularity with tourists who seek a glimpse of this seventh natural wonder of the world, while getting back to Vegas in time for dinner and a show. There are plans in place and construction underway for some incredible attractions, such as the Grand Canyon Skywalk which opened to the public on March 28, 2007. It is already a huge draw.
